Prof Comfort Ekpo Trains RU Lecturers on Effective Teaching

As part of a staff capacity building series at Ritman University, Prof. Comfort Ekpo – erstwhile Vice Chancellor of the University of Uyo – has lectured as guest in an Effective Teaching Workshop on Tuesday 26 February 2019.

Ekpo explained that effectiveness in teaching entails an organized interaction in which objectives are clearly stated to meet learner’s expectation, learner’s interest is aroused and sustained, comprehension is aided, classroom management is enabled, peer learning is visible, variety of teaching and learning styles are productively employed, and visualization as well as practical learning experiences are aided.

ICAN Donates Books as RU Celebrates Mother Language Day

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) has donated 184 reading materials to Ritman University Accounting Laboratory. This coincided with the celebration of International Mother Language Day (IMLD) by the Faculty of Humanities on Thursday 21 February 2019.

The gifts were presented by Chairman of ICAN Uyo and District Society, Mr Eteyen Ikpong. Vice Chancellor of RU, Prof Celestine Ntuen, said his university wants to produce Accounting graduates who have moral, ethical responsibility, are resilient, have a knack for accuracy and can produce reliable financial reports. Commending ICAN for these donations, he said the books would pave pathways for student’s success, just as ICAN members are offering intellectual inputs as lecturers to RU undergraduates.

Make Money out of Problems, Washington Inspires RU Students

Reginald Washington felt at home in Ritman University, Ikot Ekpene, except for his being grilled over the phone while trying to retrieve money from his USA bank accounts. “My credit card can’t work in Nigeria. My bank can’t send me money because I’m in Nigeria. Yet this country has gold, diamonds, oil, countless resources. They make huge money from Nigeria, but won’t do business here. That’s unfair”, he averred.

He wants to change that situation by first reworking the minds of young people. That is what brought him to Ritman University (RU). Dr. Reginald Washington is founder, Kingdom of God Ministries International, California, USA and Kingdom Ambassadors for Christ Nigeria.
